One of the favorite parts of my day is to read feedback from those who have recently returned home from our resort.

Sculptor Gilbert Senchi is known as an avant-garde Aruban artist whose massive iron and bronze installations and offbeat works have been commissioned by the Aruban government to enhance public spaces and commissioned to create gifts for the Dutch royal family.

From the moment honeymooners don their sunglasses and step off the plane upon arrival to our One Happy Island, they are met at the jetway by their personal assistant. Whisked away to a private lounge and welcomed with Champagne, their greeter gathers their luggage. After the refresher, newlyweds are escorted to the front of the immigration and border checkpoint, then quickly met curbside by their private luxury sedan for the five-mile ride to Bucuti & Tara.

April 4th in Seville, Spain, the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) announced Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort of Aruba, as the winner of the Climate Action Award at the Tourism for Tomorrow Awards ceremony.

For as long as I have been a part of Bucuti & Tara – thirty-two years now - I have taken great pride and pleasure knowing I was part of something bigger and more rewarding than simply a resort hotel operation.

If you follow us on social media, you have learned that Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort has been named by TripAdvisor as the #1 most romantic resort in the Caribbean and the #8 most romantic resort in the World…yes!...the World! We’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what it means to be romantic and we asked our guests, what it means to them, and this is what they told us.

“The Leatherback Turtles are Aruba’s oldest repeat guests” says Edith van der Wal, the president of Turtugaruba, the local foundation dedicated to protecting the Leatherback’s nesting on our Eagle Beach. “Leatherbacks have been nesting in Aruba for thousands of years” Edith and her volunteers disperse to beaches all around Aruba during nesting and hatching seasons to also look after Loggerhead, Green and Hawksbill turtles too.
