a close up of sand, the gift of rest

The Gift of Rest: A Heartfelt Invitation from Bucuti & Tara

A quiet morning beside the sea. Time to enjoy breakfast without watching the clock. The comfort of knowing that the little things have already been thought of.

At Bucuti & Tara, we understand how much these simple moments can mean. We create space for our guests to slow down, leave everyday demands behind, and reconnect with themselves, with each other, and with nature. This October, through Fundacion ABO’s Make Aruba Pink campaign, we are extending that care through a special invitation.

The Gift of Rest

We will be welcoming one person facing breast cancer for a complimentary four-night stay at Bucuti & Tara, offering a little comfort during a time that can ask so much of a person, physically and emotionally.

Nominations are welcome from anywhere in the world, and we will arrange and cover the selected recipient’s flights to Aruba and their four-night stay. You do not need to have stayed with us before. This invitation is open to anyone facing breast cancer for whom a few peaceful days, with the space to rest and feel cared for, could bring comfort during a difficult time.

You are welcome to share your own story or, with their permission, nominate someone you care about.

Our peaceful setting on Eagle Beach, intimate scale and thoughtful, personal service offer a place to settle into a gentler rhythm. The recipient will be welcomed with sensitivity, with room to rest beside the sea and enjoy our wellness experiences according to their interests, comfort and energy.

There will be no expectation to fill their days. Our wish is for them to feel gently cared for, free to leave the everyday arrangements to us and spend their time in whatever way feels right for them.

Stories and nominations may be sent to pr@bucuti.com through October 31, 2026.

Care that begins at home

The Gift of Rest is part of our wider collaboration with Fundacion ABO for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Through its Make Aruba Pink campaign, ABO is helping make conversations about breast health more familiar and encouraging people to participate in screening.

As an independent, locally owned resort, caring for our associates, supporting our community and protecting Aruba’s natural heritage are part of our everyday relationship with the island. This collaboration brings those commitments together.

Last year, we introduced annual health checkups tailored to women’s and men’s health needs. Information sessions with ABO and assistance with booking screening appointments will build on that commitment, giving our team opportunities to ask questions and make time for their own health.

Throughout October, touches of pink will quietly express our support across the resort. Reusable ribbon pins worn by our associates, pink orchids in our guestrooms and suites, pink illumination of our sign, and a special mocktail will carry the campaign’s colors. Our monthly beach cleanup will also take on a touch of pink, connecting a familiar tradition of caring for Aruba’s shores with care for its people.

Finding connection in Aruba’s nature

Our care for people and our care for nature come together at the Bucuti & Tara–GMC Nature Preserve.

On October 25, a gathering planned with Fundacion ABO will welcome people affected by breast cancer for a gentle experience of nature, reflection, and companionship.

Participants will be invited to discover Aruba’s flora and fauna, enjoy mindfulness and grounding practices, and learn about local herbs and their place in the island’s wellbeing traditions. There will be time to engage the senses, appreciate the surroundings, and enjoy being outdoors together at a comfortable pace.

Planting trees will leave a living connection to the gathering. As they take root, they will contribute to the preserve’s continuing restoration, becoming part of a landscape being nurtured for generations to come.

Share the gift of rest

If this invitation brings someone to mind, or if it speaks to something you need yourself, we would be grateful to hear from you.

Please email pr@bucuti.com by October 31, 2026, sharing a little about yourself or the person you are nominating and what a few days of rest could mean. Include contact details and ensure you have the person’s permission before sharing their story.

Submissions will be reviewed privately and with compassion. One recipient will be selected with consideration for their circumstances and the meaning this opportunity could hold for them.

We are grateful to Fundacion ABO for inspiring this collaboration and giving us another way to share the care at the heart of Bucuti & Tara. Wherever our recipient calls home, we look forward to welcoming them into ours.
