Terms & Conditions

2022 POLICY (for bookings with arrival dates as of December 23, 2021 - December 21, 2022)

  • Full payment is due 30 days prior to arrival
  • Cancellations made 30 days or less prior to arrival are 100% non-refundable.  
  • No Shows (no cancel and no show on arrival date) incur 100% penalty
  • Room cancellations will be processed the way we received them.  If made by phone or direct email, cancellations processed only that way and if made via the website booking engine, cancel only through the booking engine which is quick and easy via the link sent in your confirmation mail.
  • We highly recommend travel insurance and cancellation insurance for your protection against any unforeseen circumstances that cause a cancellation. We will not refund within the penalty period under any circumstances.
  • We do not refund or change dates within the penalty period.
  • A minimum of 5 nights applies
  • With the CDC relaxing COVID protocols and most countries and businesses relaxing restrictions, we too think it is time that we no longer need to receive proof of vaccination from our guests prior to making a reservation or, to check-in to the resort.  Therefore, if you have been asked to provide proof from us, please advise this policy has changed as of April 18th, 2022, and the proof of vaccination is no longer required.

    We continue to recommend that all of our guests protect our residents, our associates, and themselves by getting vaccinated prior to traveling to Aruba.   Should a new variant or threat emerge in the future, we will notify guests in advance of any changes to our requirements. TRAVEL INSURANCE:

We highly recommend all guests to protect themselves from losses due to last minute cancellations or no-shows. Because we are a small, independently owned business and are unable to be flexible with policies.  Aruba has no last minute walk-in business that would allow rooms to be resold.  Please read our policies carefully and consider contacting your insurance agent for travel insurance. Health and Safety Measures:

Bucuti & Tara is ISO certified and we follow HACCP standards of operation which have always brought a heightened level of safety and security into our operation for both our guests and our associates alike. We are confident we are operating safely for our guests and associates and will continue to work with WHO, PAHO, CDC and Dutch and Aruban Health Authorities and follow all of their guidelines.  

We’ve added the following to our normal already heightened level of safety in our operation and invite you to view our detailed protocols HERE:

  • Hand sanitizing gel stations in public areas and in every guestroom.
  • Deep preventative sanitation of all check out rooms
  • Deep preventative cleaning of all public areas on a continuous basis.
  • Guest contact, such as handshakes and hugs, are discouraged

Aruba is a Dutch Island with sophisticated healthcare facilities, professional and expert healthcare experts. 


Adults only:
Bucuti is an Adults-Only (18+) resort, and does not accept children 17 and under.  Our services are geared primarily to couples on romantic getaways or those looking for peace and quiet. All resorts in Aruba except Bucuti have programs and facilities for children.


We do not accept group bookings to preserve our ambiance:

Bucuti is designed for people seeking serenity and romance, and we proactively cultivate an atmosphere that lets peace and relaxation come naturally. We minimize distractions by focusing on our individual guests and therefore do not reserve groups. To maximize your comfort as well as your fellow guests, we will not accept a reservation for more than two rooms, with two people per room. Note, our restaurant will seat maximum four people at a table and we have one table which accommodates 6 and this is only upon request.

No Smoking Policy:
The resort is a non-smoking resort, except for 3 designated areas on property (south garden hut, courtyard garden umbrella, and blue umbrella on beach). All rooms and room balconies are also non-smoking. A fee of $250 USD cleaning charge will be charged to your account if we need to process the room when smoking has occurred during your occupancy. Cigars and pipes are not permitted on property and e-cigarettes are treated like cigarettes.


Cashless Resort:

No cash is accepted at the hotel front desk or restaurant. Concierges do accept cash deposits for bookings of island activities. All major credit cards are accepted.


Minimum Night Stay:

We have a 5 nights minimum for December 23, 2021 - December 21, 2022

We have a 7 nights minimum for December 22, 2022 - January 02, 2023 and February 1 - 28, 2023

We have a 5 nights minimum for January 03 - 31, 2023 and March 01 - December 22, 2023


Special Requests and Comments:

Please be informed that we do our utmost to fulfill your requests, but we cannot guarantee room locations or bedding type until day of arrival.


Pet Policy:

  1. One small dog or cat (less than 20 lbs) allowed per room, and hotel needs to be informed at time of reservation.
  2. Pet Owner agrees to be responsible for any damage or injury caused by the pet, and to absolve the Hotel staff of any liability if the pet or another guest is injured and to limit to one pet per room.
  3. We require that the pet never be left unattended in the hotel.
  4. Pets are not allowed inside the Tara Lounge or Elements dining room.
  5. Pets are not allowed on the pool deck.
  6. Barking may disturb other guests. Should guests hear and complain about barking we may have to relocate the Pet Owner to another resort.
  7. Pets must be leashed or held when out of the guestroom.
  8. We provide two pet dishes (for water and food) and a sleeping mat; please do not allow pets on the beds or furniture.
  9. Pets may be walked on resort grounds, however, owners are required to clean up after your pet .
  10. The resort will charge an additional fee of $15 per day for the pet in the Bucuti wing, and $20 per day for the pet in Tara Suites.


Drones:

The use of drones is restricted on our property, to protect the tranquility, security and privacy for our guests, unless authorized by senior management.   


Booking in Advance:

We accept bookings for arrival dates up to a max of 730 days (2 years) ahead of the current date.
