Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort Celebrates the Women Who Power Its Legacy on International Women’s Day 2026
At Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort, Aruba’s premier adults-only luxury resort, celebrating women is part of everyday culture. But on International Women’s Day 2026, the resort proudly shines a spotlight on the inspiring women whose dedication, leadership, and compassion shape the heart of the Bucuti & Tara experience.
From frontline guest service to leadership roles, these remarkable team members exemplify excellence both within the resort and throughout the Aruba community. Their stories highlight how empowerment, equality, and purpose-driven hospitality define the Bucuti & Tara legacy.
International Women’s Day 2026: Global Themes Driving Equality
International Women’s Day 2026 centers on two global themes that promote action toward gender equality and opportunity.
The campaign theme “Give To Gain” encourages individuals and organizations to contribute time, knowledge, and resources to advance women’s empowerment. The idea is simple yet powerful: when societies invest in women, communities grow stronger and future generations benefit.
Complementing this message, the United Nations theme “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls” emphasizes the need to strengthen legal protections, remove barriers to justice, and ensure equal opportunities worldwide, including for migrants and displaced women.
At Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort, these principles are not new. Since its founding, the resort has championed equal opportunity, equal pay, and an inclusive workplace culture where women are empowered to lead and grow professionally.
Women hold key leadership roles throughout the resort, and in many departments they represent the majority of management positions. This commitment aligns with Bucuti & Tara’s dedication to responsible leadership and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, ensuring equality is not just supported, but actively practiced every day.
Women Leading Across Every Level of Bucuti & Tara
Women play a vital role in delivering the personalized hospitality that defines the Bucuti & Tara guest experience. Their expertise, warmth, and attention to detail contribute to the resort’s reputation as one of the Caribbean’s most beloved luxury destinations.
While the resort celebrates its female team members year-round, International Women’s Day provides a meaningful opportunity to recognize extraordinary individuals whose dedication extends beyond their professional roles into their families and communities.
Each year, departments nominate team members who demonstrate exceptional resilience, leadership, and compassion.
This year, Bucuti & Tara proudly recognizes several remarkable women whose contributions reflect the strength and spirit of the entire team.
“At Bucuti & Tara, we are fortunate to be surrounded by women whose dedication reaches far beyond their roles at the resort,” says Crescenzia Biemans, Managing Director of Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort. “When you learn about their lives, you see how they care for their families and communities while continuing to give their best at work every day. Their example is what makes our culture so special.”
Honoring the Women Behind the Bucuti & Tara Experience
Josette Olibert – Housekeeper
Before the sun rises over Eagle Beach, Josette Olibert’s day has already begun.
At 4:30 a.m., she starts her morning caring for loved ones before arriving at Bucuti & Tara to deliver the meticulous attention to detail that supports the resort’s Forbes-level service standards.
Josette is admired by her colleagues for her reliability, humility, and pride in her work. Her quiet strength and consistent dedication help create the welcoming atmosphere guests experience every day.
“Josette inspires those around her through her dedication, resilience, and unwavering commitment to excellence,” says Amanda Gordon-d'Aguiar, Housekeeping Manager.

Since joining Bucuti & Tara in 1998, Nakarid Ochoa has become known for her warm hospitality and calm leadership.
A proud mother of three, she balances family life with her professional responsibilities while inspiring her team to prioritize wellness and collaboration.
Nakarid has received recognition within Aruba’s hospitality industry, including a nomination for the AHATA Awards. She is also a certified artisan and serves on the board of the Arts & Crafts Foundation, where she advocates for sustainability and the preservation of Aruba’s creative culture.
At the resort, she is affectionately known as the “Mama” of Paco, Bucuti & Tara’s rescued yellow-headed Amazon parrot.
“Nakarid promotes healthy living within her team and community, showing that leadership is about wellbeing as much as performance,” says Nicolas Nemalceff, Director of Food & Beverage.
Ettel Boyce – Senior Hostess
At Elements Restaurant, Ettel Boyce plays a central role in the evening guest experience. Her organization and leadership ensure every reservation flows smoothly, helping guests begin their dining experience with ease.
Beyond the restaurant, Ettel represents Aruba as a national champion weightlifter, earning multiple international medals for the island.
Her commitment to discipline and fitness extends to running and community sporting events.
“Ettel’s example shows young women in the community that strength and ambition can thrive in every arena,” says Nicolas Nemalceff, Director of Food & Beverage.
Jennifer Teixeira – Food & Beverage Supervisor
Originally from Canada with Brazilian roots, Jennifer Teixeira brings global perspective and warmth to the Bucuti & Tara dining team.
Outside the resort, Jennifer channels her love for Aruba through photography, capturing the island’s wildlife, landscapes, and natural beauty.
Her compassion also extends to animals. She volunteers with local shelters, helping promote pet adoption and taking rescue dogs on beach outings with her daughter.
“Through her photography, Jennifer inspires others to appreciate and protect Aruba’s natural beauty,” says Nicolas Nemalceff, Director of Food & Beverage.
Madeline “Madi” Gower-Fernandez – Senior Concierge
For many returning guests, Madeline “Madi” Gower-Fernandez is more than a concierge—she is a trusted friend.
Known for remembering guests’ favorite places, preferences, and stories, she helps transform visits into meaningful connections that keep travelers returning to Bucuti & Tara year after year.
Within the resort community, Madi also supports colleagues through the Bucuti Associates Association (BAV) and the Savings & Loans program, helping strengthen professional development and financial wellbeing among associates.
Outside work, she is a devoted mother who balances family life, fitness, and her love of Bucuti team hikes.
“Madi embodies the spirit of Bucuti & Tara with her kindness, resilience, and dedication to both guests and colleagues,” says Natalie Brandts, Wellness Specialist.
Natalie Brandts – Wellness Specialist
As Wellness Specialist, Natalie Brandts helps both guests and team members prioritize their physical and mental wellbeing.

She also contributes to employee engagement initiatives through the Bucuti Associates Association, promoting professional development and shared success.
“Natalie continuously supports the health and wellbeing of those around her,” says Björn Brandts, Wellness Specialist.

Women are represented across every level of Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort, reinforcing a culture rooted in empowerment, equality, and opportunity.
By celebrating International Women’s Day each year, the resort honors not only professional achievements but also the personal resilience and community impact of its team members.
“These women embody the spirit of hospitality and humanity that defines Bucuti & Tara,” says Crescenzia Biemans. “Their stories remind us that what truly defines our resort is the remarkable people who lift others up.”
