As long-time stewards of the environment, we are honored to announce our newest eco-designation in the race to halt global warming ?LEED? Silver certification. What does this certification mean? LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) is a rating system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), the world?s leading program for buildings that are designed, constructed, maintained and operated for improved environmental and human health performance. In other words, it is the worldwide standard that recognizes when a building and its operations are truly "green".

As you may know, Aruba has more sunny days than any other Caribbean island and we recognize that our visitors are here to take advantage of the sun, sand and sea. With our resort being located on world-renowned Eagle Beach, we realize that our guests plan to spend most of their time relaxing on the beach sipping tropical drinks and enjoying our cooling trade winds. Of course we encourage our guests to do so but to keep in mind that Aruba is very close to the equator and the trade winds tend to mask the intensity of the hot sun.

Each year, from March through July, thousands of sea turtles make their way to the Caribbean to nest. Sea turtles return to the beach where they were born to nest after reaching maturity. Many Leatherback Turtles nest on Eagle Beach, meaning our guests may have the opportunity to witness this emotional and beautiful experience. For many, experiencing a nesting turtle or watching a baby hatchling make their way to the sea is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
