Most Sustainable Hotel in the World

Here at Bucuti, sustainability is at the heart of every decision we make and every action we take. From the solar panels that generate electricity and heat our water to the refillable water canteens we provide to all guests and our support of community-based causes, we strive to deliver the most eco-friendly experience possible, while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Our dedication to the environment and community has been recognized numerous times over the years, and we recently experienced one of our proudest moments to date when Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort achieved Platinum certification and was named Green Globe’s Most Sustainable Hotel in the World.

Green Globe is the international certification for sustainable tourism. Members of Green Globe are encouraged to “do good by always doing better”, a challenge that we have approached head on for the past 15 years that Bucuti has been Green Globe certified. Bucuti secured this most recent honor following a rigorous auditing process in which the resort achieved 98 percent of Green Globe’s sustainability criteria, the highest score for sustainable operations and management of any participating hotel worldwide. Green Globe’s announcement is a truly proud moment for our team.  

It has taken steadfast dedication and hard work to continually raise the bar, and I extend my sincere thanks to the entire Bucuti family – our management, our staff, our vendors and especially our guests – for supporting our environmental programs and initiatives throughout the years.
