When it comes to travel trends for 2022, it turns out the world is looking for love. Results of a new study by giant search engine Google reveal travelers’ top search criteria for 2022: life moments, value, health safety, community first, digital presence, and sustainability. At the heart of it all is Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort, Aruba, with our responsible romantic travel.
“As travelers return with renewed purposes and preferences, we love helping couples enjoy first-time experiences together, which leads them to see each other through a different lens of new, shared adventures and brings their closeness to a new level here at Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort,” says Owner/CEO Ewald Biemans.
HoneymoonGoals.com captured this same sentiment when recently naming Aruba to its “Top 22 Honeymoon Destinations for 2022.” The popular planning site shared, “There are many beautiful beaches and landscapes to choose from, but there is much more to the island than that which makes Aruba the perfect honeymoon destination for people wanting a vacation that combines beaches and culture.”
Our adults-only enclave has long been heralded as the romantic haven for couples. Honeymooners, intimate weddings, anniversaries, and “just because” vacations are a hallmark of the experience we offer. As Tripadvisor’s No. 1 Hotel for Romance in the Caribbean for six years running and Top 10 Hotel for Romance in the World, couples once again taking flight for travel because they know our resort is proven to consistently deliver. Our laidback luxury setting, expansive spaces, extensively trained staff, and year-round warm sunshine combined with the commitments of no groups, no children and no excessive noise promises couples can focus solely on one another.
We debuted our live-streamed, micro-weddings service in the midst of the pandemic. This service continues letting well-wishers “attend” the ceremony from afar in the comfort of their home and as a way to overcome on-again, off-again travel restrictions. Private beachfront dining, beach butler service and weekly honeymoon toasts, along with curated romance experiences thanks to our romance concierges who let couples bring out the best of their travel together.
While Google’s Travel Trends 2022 survey reveals travelers are seeking value, they are not necessarily looking for the least expensive deal, rather, they are looking for high quality. Because we know that nothing sours a great vacation faster than a disappointing bill at check-out, our “no surprise fees” rates include nightly accommodations, full breakfast daily, daily wellness activities, use of in-room tablet throughout stay, WiFi, parking, and local calls.
Proven safety measures
The Google Travel Trends 2022 report also cemented travelers’ priority of requiring solid safety and wellness measures in place spawned by the pandemic. Our Bucuti & Tara leadership hosted ICU doctors and nurses to develop and implement high-tech, hospital-grade COVID-19 safety protocols. Additionally, 100% of staff are fully vaccinated and as of Dec. 23, 2021, all guests must be fully vaccinated, as well.
The study reveals increased recognition of the vital role our guests play in protecting the destinations they visit. In studies cited in a recent industry media outlet, 'Skift', the article “Here’s What Stepping Up on Climate Change Means for Global Tourism,” features insights from Bucuti & Tara’s Owner/CEO Ewald Biemans, Millennials and Generation Z, in particular, are seeking local experiences focused on equity and inclusivity.
Authenticity is fortified throughout our Bucuti & Tara experience for twosomes. They enjoy local musicians, handworks by community artisans, and an interactive gallery art exhibit by internationally acclaimed Elisa LeJuez. Our Element's restaurant newest vegan menu highlights the island’s farmers, even local EcoKids school children who are learning to become entrepreneurs and sell their hand-grown mint to the resort’s culinary team for recipes. Our Authentic Aruban & Caribbean menu debuted earlier in the year with a rotating menu of deep-rooted family recipes from the staff. Even the island’s top wellness professionals are on hand to help our couples on their continuum of wellness together whether it’s beach massages, meditation, full-moon yoga, or even windsurfing with a world champion. When it’s time to explore, our guests can sail the seas on a private yacht excursion or even team up with the island’s own Caribbean birding expert and professional photographer to discover more than 280 colorful birds both indigenous to our One Happy Island or migrating between hemispheres.
Sustainability now protects the future
Responsible romantic travel reigns supreme at our Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort, Aruba, for couples who want to bring out the best in one another by bringing out the best of their travels with a holistic travel experience. At the Caribbean’s first and only carbon-neutral hotel, lovebirds can have the guilt-free vacation of their dreams trading carbon footprints for sandy footprints.
A look at guests’ reviews of Bucuti & Tara on Tripadvsior, the largest travel review platform in the world, reflects couples’ awe of their romantic stays at our resort while also citing how good they feel knowing they’ve opted for responsible travel. This example is one of many where honeymooners relish starting their lives together in post-nuptial bliss. Nothing is sacrificed – they still enjoy traditional Champagne toasts, lounging together on Bucuti & Tara’s powdery white sand beach, taking in prismatic sunsets.
In fall 2021, Bucuti & Tara debuted the world’s first Carbon Offset Concierge. A stay at the Caribbean’s most eco-certified resort is already carbon neutral. This new service allows couples to offset the carbon emissions of their flights, airport transfers, and even island excursions, therefore, creating a door-to-door carbon-neutral vacation.
