We are always so pleased by the many “thank you’s”we receive from our guests. From the concierge desk to the beach to the restaurant or spa, our team is always grateful to be recognized for a job well done. However, while our team works hard and is passionate about our resort, we are not solely responsible for Bucuti’s success. We would not be able to offer the unique experience we do at Bucuti without guests like you who share our passion for giving back to our One Happy Island of Aruba.
It is our turn to thank YOU for everything you have done to help us create a very special community here at Bucuti while benefiting the larger community we live in.
Year after year, our guests make grand efforts to support our charitable programs and sustainability initiatives. The time, expense, care and heart that go into these causes is invaluable, and the act of giving back has helped all of us become connected on a personal level. Our shared respect and love for Aruba has brought us together and, for many of our guests, a visit to Bucuti feels more like coming home than going on vacation.
The decision to become involved starts before your plane ever touches down in Aruba. By simply choosing an eco-friendly hotel like Bucuti you are reducing your carbon footprint and doing right by the environment from the start. Our certifications, including LEED Silver, Green Globe Platinum, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and Travelife Gold, hold us to high standards and ensure that we are not just talking the talk, but also walking the walk. There are many outstanding hotels to choose from in Aruba, so we thank you for making the environmentally friendly choice to stay at Bucuti.
Deciding what to bring on a week’s vacation is not always an easy task, so we also thank those of you who leave extra space in your suitcase to support the Pack With A Purpose program. Your generous donations of clothing, school supplies and toys to ImeldaHof Children’s Home help to inspire creativity and positivity among these young Arubans who can not live with family.
On-property, we are continuously thankful for all you do to keep Eagle Beach looking its best during our monthly Beach Cleanup. Eagle Beach is one of our most beautiful and precious natural resources, and it is encouraging that so many of you have dedicated your own leisure time to ensure that it remains that way for years to come. The Beach Cleanup takes place on the third Wednesday of each month, and if this timing corresponds with your next visit to Aruba, we hope you will join us on your next visit.
A big thank you also goes to those of you who have participated in our Green Stay program to reduce our water and energy usage, as well as all of you who have opted for using our Bucuti canteens instead of purchasing what would amount to millions of plastic bottles. Small steps can go a long way in protecting the environment, especially on an island like Aruba where energy and space for waste come at a premium.
For some of you, your love for Aruba has gone home with you. As a long-time animal rights advocate and dog lover, I extend a wholehearted thank you to everyone who has given an Aruban “Cunucu”dog a forever home. We are happy to have helped a number of our guests bring these abandoned animals into their families through our partnership with Animal Relief Foundation Aruba . To the Freemans who brought Ginger home to Arkansas earlier this year, the Eskins who gave Rebel a home in Philadelphia, and all of our many guests who have adopted dogs, thank you for making a difference in the lives of these loving animals.
When I founded Bucuti, it was important to me that community work and environmental preservation was woven into the culture of the resort. Having your support over the years has helped us truly become a force for positive change in Aruba, and for that I again thank you wholeheartedly.
