We’ve all experienced the process of booking a reservation. After providing our names, the dates and the room preference the next question is usually a request for a credit card, which we are then asked to provide at check-in. At Bucuti we have recently changed our policy and since we never want our guests to be surprised when it comes to charges we’d like to take a moment to review our procedures, so you know what to expect.
 
When you book directly with one of our reservations specialists or on our website we do not charge your credit card before arrival. However, if the reservation is cancelled within the penalty period or in the event of a no-show we do charge the reserved nights. If you booked via a tour operator or travel website they will most likely charge you in advance. 
 
Upon your arrival our front desk agent will check you in, review some of the special amenities you will have access to throughout your stay and ask you to provide either a debit or credit card.
 
If you booked directly with the resort (online or via email) our front desk agent will charge your credit or debit card for an amount equaling the total value of your reservation (number of nights times the nightly rate). At check- out, we will charge your card for any incidental charges (such as meals) you signed to your room during your stay.
 
If you prepaid via a travel service, your card will be authorized for $0.01 at check-in to verify the validity of the card. After that, each guest has a credit line of $1,000 on their guest account for incidental charges that are signed to the room. Should the charges exceed the credit line a payment of $1,000 will be processed towards the account. Any unpaid balance will be charged at check-out.
 
Please be advised that we are a cash-less resort, and do not accept cash on property, including at the restaurant and bar; all major credit cards are accepted and room-signing privileges are available for all services at the resort, except down payments of activities purchased via our concierges. Prior special arrangement can be made with the resort manager or manager on duty for a onetime cash deposit at check-in that will be credited to your room bill, allowing you to sign against the balance.
 
We advice our guests to let their banks know prior to their travels that they will be using their credit or debit card abroad. This will avoid any difficulty with using the card while on vacation.
