Finnish couple from the remote Åland Islands Marry on Aruba’s “Dream Beach of the World”

February 2006- Bucuti Beach Resort’s renown ‘Dream Beach of the World’ was the backdrop for an intimate wedding for visitors from the Åland Islands, Mr. and Mrs. Andreas and Ann-Sofi Perjus.

The intimate marriage ceremony took place against the back drop of a setting sun and the deserted Bucuti Beach.

Mr. and Mrs. Perjus home is a group of islands twice the size of Aruba but with only 25,000 inhabitants. The island group is an independent region of Finland. Andreas is Director of Customer Services of European Game and Entertainment Technology Ltd where Ann-Sofi also works as Requirements Manager.

The couple dreamed of an intimate, romantic location to marry which is uncommon to people from her home country and Ann-Sofi explains: “Aruba is paradise, so far from snow and below zero temperatures! We are so happy to have found the place we were dreaming about” Both parents of the bride and groom as well as four other friends traveled from Åland to attend the wedding. Friend Peter Lofman surprised Ann-Sofi by recording and bringing her favorite Finnish love song which was played at the ceremony: “For Karlekes Skull” which means “For the sake of love”

Pabien! Onnittelu! Congratulations!... to Mr. and Mrs. Perjus on behalf of all of us in Aruba. We are honored you chose our island for your wedding!
