Bucuti Staff finds owner of $150 found floating in pool and returns cash

September 27, 2001 - - Bucuti Beach Resort, Aruba - - Every morning, for the past 14 years, Mr. Archie Becker performs his daily routine with a smile and good cheer. Mr. Becker is Bucuti's Pool and Beach attendant….a loyal, hard working man who has been with the hotel over 11 years, and working with Bucuti's Owner and Manager Ewald Biemans, for many years prior to that.

Tuesday, Archie noticed something unfamiliar floating in the pool, and upon extracting it, he discovered it was USD $150.00. Without hesitation, Archie brought the cash to the front desk and gave it to the receptionist to log in the lost and found system. Personnel in the Pirates' Nest Restaurant, upon learning about the find, remembered a friendly discussion with a guest enjoying a meal who mentioned the loss, in passing. The information was reported to the front desk and the cash was reunited with it's owner.

Bucuti Guest, Mr. Rienzi was dumfounded with the news that his cash had been found and that efforts were underway to find the owner. "This would never have happened where I live [The United States] and the Aruban people should be commended for their honesty and integrity" Bucuti management and staff join Mr. Rienzi with their appreciation and tribute to Mr. Becker!
