BUCUTI Beach Resort and Aruba's Fire Department team up for Fire and Safety Training
October, 2007
Bucuti Beach Resort - Eagle Beach Aruba - Each year, Bucuti Management and Staff undergo training to maintain their Emergency Plan and Procedure, to ensure the safety of guests and staff, should an emergency situation occur.
The timing of the training coincides with International Fire Prevention Week. Aruba's Fire Department simulated a fire complete with "casualties", to allow management and staff to practice their skills in the most realistic environment. Manager Deborah Dintelman states: "The training and fire simulation allowed the management and staff to test all aspects of our emergency plan, from the initial emergency phone calls to the Fire Department, Ambulance Services, etc... to fire fighting, a hotel guest evacuation, as well as CPR, and treatment to the wounded. Every individual in the resort had a task to perform and their performance was tested for response time and effectiveness."
After the simulation, a review and assessment of Bucuti's performance was evaluated by the fire department in order to identify areas for improvement.
