200 guests witness wedding on Aruba’s Dream Beach through live web images
March 16, 2005-- Eagle Beach, Aruba -- Bucuti Beach Resort’s 14 acres of
powder white sand and a blazing orange sunset was the setting for the wedding of Ms. Kimberly Ferranti and Mr. Mario Di Somma from East Hartford, Connecticut.
“We dreamed of having a romantic wedding in Aruba, with only the two of us on the vast, deserted Bucuti Beach” states Mr. Di Somma. Yet the desire to share the event with friends and family was important too…We could have the best of both worlds when Bucuti offered to utilize their webcam to allow our friends and family the ability to ‘be there’ as it was happening.” While planning their wedding, they sent out 200 invitations to family and friends to log on to the Bucuti web site to witness the event. After the ceremony the couple received dozens of emails with best wishes from those who had viewed their wedding.

One of the most technologically advanced resorts in the Caribbean, Bucuti offers wi fi access throughout the resort, beach and guest rooms as well as a business center where computers are available free of charge with a broadband internet connection.
Engaged on Aruba a year ago, the couple chose the Bucuti Beach Resort Aruba because of the ‘extraordinary’ beach, friendly people and the opportunity to honeymoon in the beautiful new suites in Bucuti’s newly opened Tara Wing. “Deborah Dintelman, Bucuti’s manager took us on a tour of the Tara wing during our February 2004 engagement trip and her warmth and friendliness in taking time with us to answer all our questions was also a major reason for our return”.
The Bucuti Beach Resort Aruba has offered live images of its beach and gardens via their webcams since 1999. Guests travel from all over Aruba to Bucuti’s beach to pose for the ‘live zoom’ which occurs from 9am – 9:15am each day. “We never know what to expect each morning” says Susan Biemans, who handles sales and marketing for Bucuti. The groups are getting larger and some guests show signs which never fail to inspire a smile and sometimes a gasp…”last week a guest held up a big sign “SEND MONEY” .Most guests inform friends and family in advance to tune into the site to see them enjoying paradise. Many are enjoying special celebrations…honeymoons and anniversaries.A radio station DJ, Mr. Kevin Kelly in Guelph, Ontario, Canada asked Bucuti to post a sign “Hello Guelph” as he asked his listeners – who had suffered 10 inches of snow the night before – to dream of warmer temperatures. The webcam has been a fun way to show the world all we have to offer those looking for a wonderful romantic getaway.
