Cultural Divide – A/C or not in Fitness Center

One of the secrets to our success at Bucuti has been our ability to cater and appeal to an international audience. As many of you know, last year alone we had couples from over 25 different countries come to Bucuti just for their special wedding day. As successful as we have been, maintaining this balance can become challenging as guests from different cultures have varying expectations when traveling.

Your Eco Room at Bucuti & Tara

For over 20 years, Bucuti has focused on offering an exceptional vacation experience in a peaceful environment, with a commitment to maintaining a safe, healthy and sustainable environment at all times. Eco-friendly practices started early on coupled with the desire to create an allergy free environment for our guests. As a result, when we built Tara suites, we used state of the art safeguards, like farmed wood, energy-saving and air cleaning technologies, recycled and hypo-allergenic materials, and LED or CFL lighting. Even the new mattresses are made of all natural fibers and recycled materials.

Weddings Bells Ring on Eagle Beach

It is no secret that the main reason our guests return time and time again is for our invaluable commitment to delivering a romantic experience and memories that last a lifetime. In 2010 alone, Bucuti hosted over 65 destination weddings for couples from over 28 different countries. It is really an honor to see people from all over the world come to our beach to live their dream day. Additionally, we have many others who come to renew their vows or have commitment ceremonies on our exquisite beach. Over time, many of these couples return to Bucuti year after year to celebrate their anniversaries or just to reconnect with each other.

Aruba's Palapa Wars - Palapa Use on Aruba's Beaches (Thatched Shade Areas)

One of the aspects that has made Bucuti Beach Resort one of the most beloved resorts in Aruba has been its location on Eagle Beach, one of the Dream Beaches of the World. Couples who come here to celebrate their honeymoon, have a romantic vacation or exchange their vows have eternally enjoyed the peace and tranquility that our beach offers them during their stay. They have particularly loved having access to one of our many delightful palapas, which allows them to be near the ocean while enjoying great service from our staff for all their beach needs.

Water Safety – It’s a priority!

When guests book their vacation at Bucuti, their primary goal is total relaxation. I find that the most gratifying part of my job is being able to see the joy that our resort brings to our guests. A part of providing that relaxation element to our hotel is making sure that we offer exceptional service along with a peaceful environment.

With this in mind, Bucuti recently found itself having to confront a very serious issue on the island – water safety. As an island, Aruba is a prime destination for those who love to enjoy water sports and here we cater to all sorts of activities, including tubing, banana boats, jet skis, parasailing and sailing, among others.

Don’t get snowed by the ratings – this is who we are...

The turquoise water and white sands of Aruba are calling your name. Only one question remains - where will you stay?

Chances are, many of you will hop online to read opinions of past guests before making your decision. Whether it’s TripAdvisor, which currently draws 5 million visitors a day; a guidebook forum or a travel-focused message board, more travelers than ever are turning to review-based websites for recommendations on their vacation plans. In fact, a recent study in the U.K determined that more than a third of the country’s travelers engage in social media research before booking a vacation (Source: 2010 World Travel Market Industry Report).

Puppy Love in Aruba

If you’ve visited Bucuti and Tara Beach Resorts, you may know that we hold a special place in our hearts for all members of the animal kingdom. Our resident Parakeet Jessie (known on the island as an Aruban Prikichi) and Paco, a Yellow-Head Amazon Parrot, are known and loved by many of our guests.  Jessie just joined us some months ago, and Paco has been with us for more than 23 years now.

Through our partnership with Turtugaruba, we’ve had guests unite in our efforts to protect the majestic sea turtles that nest on our beaches.  We also support a number of other animal-related causes such as Donkey Sanctuary Aruba, Animal Rights Aruba, the Aruba Birdlife Conservation Society and our local shelters.

Maintaining personal safety in paradise

As many of you know, we often like to refer to Aruba as “One Happy Island.” Our beautiful beaches, the crystal clear seas and our friendly people make this moniker ring true, as does one more extremely important attribute – safety.

In comparison to many other islands in the Caribbean, Aruba is a very safe place for both locals and vacationers. We are fortunate to not see the types of violent and drug-related crime that are more commonplace in other countries in our region. While some destinations advise vacationers against journeying beyond their resort, visitors to Aruba are encouraged to explore – whether it’s at Arikok National Park, which encompasses nearly 20 percent of the island, the wide variety of restaurants located around the island or our lively nightlife scene. Many tourists like to shop in Oranjestad, and locals there are generally open to answering questions about the area and providing tips on the best shops and restaurants.

IT'S NOT ALWAYS EASY BEING GREEN, BUT IT PAYS OFF

What Bucuti’s environmental programs and certifications mean for you

As many of you know, we are passionate about the environment here at Bucuti and have been ever since I opened the doors in 1987. While “sustainable” and “eco-friendly” are certainly buzzwords in the travel industry today, many shades of “green” exist.

Our definition of "DO NOT DISTURB"

Here at Bucuti and Tara Beach Resorts, we appreciate that we have something special…a sublimely beautiful location unlike anywhere else in the world. This puts us in the position of being part of some of the most memorable moments in the lives of our guests, the majority of whom are couples celebrating the joy of togetherness here in Aruba.
